Saturday night was the Halloween party at Ethan's school, so the four of us headed over there after dinner. We had such a good time. The kids ran around and played. We went through the "Haunted Hallway" where Alex actually got scared and I felt so bad! Then the boys and I went on the hayride while Jason waited inside. There were donuts, pretzels, cider and water for snacks, yummy! I only saw one game and the boys tried to play (digging for a dog biscuit buried in a kiddie pool filled with leaves to win a prize).
There was a costume contest by age group, newborn to 2, 3-5(not in kindergarten yet), Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and Junior High(7-8). Alex's little friend was one of the 2 winners in their age group. After that the parents sat in chairs lined up along the walls of the gym and the kids lined up and went "trick-or-treating".
Sunday, we sorted through their big ol' bag of candy and there was quite a bit that they can have! Plus I had purchased some things at the natural food store to trade them for the things they can't have.
Jason decided to put a wooden "deck" over our side concrete steps and porch. The porch was very cracked and would have been very hard to fix since it was a section in the middle and it's all concrete and cinderblocks! So his dad, Jason and his brother Jeff built a wooden porch over it and secured it nicely. Next weekend they are going to add wooden steps over the existing concrete steps to make it look really good.
While they did that, the boys and I went to my mom and dad's for a few hours and visited. My mom and I took the boys to a pumpkin farm out by their house. The boys got to play in a hay maze with a tunnel and a hay "playground" with a slide. We walked through a free corn maze and a 1-acre corn maze. They picked out some small pumpkins to paint/decorate. We ate homemade fresh donuts (YUMMMM, I bought 2 dozen to bring home, LOL), and went on a hayride! I picked up some cool coloring books and a couple pencils to trade with them after Halloween trick-or-treating.
All-in-all, we had a great weekend with lots of pictures.
So, without further ado, here is my slide show of our weekend:

Cute costumes! My 2 oldest went as Captain Hook and Peter Pan when they were little. What a wonderful memory!!
That looks like a lot of fun! Great pictures. I love the fall/pumpkins/hayrides etc.
WOW! Their costumes turned out GREAT!! They looks amazing. :)
I wish we could have joined you. As it is :(, BOTH the boys seem to have gained ANOTHER cold over the weekend.
I'll lose my mind.
It looks like it was so much fun! I'm happy you had such a nice weekend.
We need to see you guys SOON! We're in withdrawal!! lol
WHERE did you get those amazing costumes??? PLEASE tell me you didn't make them or I will go sit in a corner with Landon's crappy Toys R Us Speed Racer outfit and cry! LOL!
Can I just say that Alex looks JUST like you (I never realized how much until now) and YOU really do look just like Katie Holmes in that one picture---Totally a compliment!
